Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns both created paintings incorporating the American flag. Influenced by and always curious about this image, I decided to paint a few for the 4th of July years ago. I loved this subject and will always revisit it with new approaches. The American Eagle is recognized world wide as a powerful symbol of freedom, strength and the patriotism of the United States.
