My observation of glassware closely parallels my experience painting chandeliers—both stem from a fascination with reflection, light, color, and the expressive potential of ordinary objects. I’m not just trying to paint a wine glass or bottle; I strive to capture them through the lens of my own color perception and interpretation. Lately, I’ve been enjoying creating petite cocktail paintings—single still lifes of a margarita, a julep, a negroni, or a martini... whatever suits your fancy. The Veuve series began when I painted two pieces as thank-you gifts for dear friends who had gifted me a case of Veuve Clicquot for my 50th. The rest, as they say, is history.
